Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a type of cosmetic surgery that is designed for repairing, reshaping and enhancement of the nose. The purpose of this surgery is just not to give your nose the desired shape but it also involves making it function properly. The malfunctioning might have been by birth, out of an injury or disease such as nasal obstruction.

If you have some unwanted humps and bumps on your nose or it has the shape as that of a clown then Rhinoplasty is the only solution for you. Nevertheless, there are a few important things that must be known about Rhinoplasty or Nose Job prior to surgery.

  • Performed under local or general anesthesia on an outpatient basis under sedation.
  • In case of simple fracture or dislocation, the pre-injury appearance of the nose can be restored by manipulation of the nose with instruments without any cuts or incisions.
  •   A properly organized operation might be needed to eliminate problems resulted from complex fracture or dislocation.
  • For patient with a deviated septum, “Septoplasty” is performed which straightens the crooked septum through incisions made inside the nose.
  •   For improving the exterior shape of the nose, the nasal bones, cartilage, and soft tissues are reshaped by making incisions inside the nostrils.
  • The whole surgery takes no more than 1 to 1½ hour.
  • Normal activities may be resumed in one week.
